What gets indexed

Requires Atlassian Jira Cloud. Data Center/Server versions are not currently supported.
Setup

Connect to Grapevine
- In Grapevine, go to Integrations and click on Jira
- Enter your Jira site URL (e.g.,
https://acme.atlassian.net) - Click Save

Install Forge app
- Click Install Jira App
- You’ll be redirected to the Atlassian Marketplace
- Click Get it now to install the Grapevine app
- Approve the installation for your Jira site

Configure signing secret
- Return to the Grapevine integration page
- Copy the signing secret displayed
- In Jira, go to Settings → Manage apps → Grapevine
- Paste the signing secret into the app configuration
- Click Save

Indexing begins
Grapevine will automatically begin indexing your Jira issues. The initial sync may take time depending on the number of issues in your instance.
Permissions
The Jira connector respects Jira permissions:- Only issues the Forge app can access are indexed
- Project-level permissions are preserved
- Restricted issues are handled according to Jira access controls
Sync behavior
The initial indexing processes issues by project. Real-time updates are configured automatically via the Forge app.
- Initial sync - Begins automatically after installation
- Ongoing syncs - Real-time updates via Forge app webhooks keep your index current
- Deletions - Deleted issues are removed from the index automatically
Limitations
- Only Jira Cloud is supported (not Data Center or Server)
- Archived projects are not indexed
- Some custom field types may have limited support
